Install CaddieIQ from Google Play and sign in. Every new account gets 7 days of full access, free — no card required, so you can try every feature before choosing a plan.
This is the most important setup step — it's what lets the AI caddie pick the right club for you.
Tell CaddieIQ your standard. This tunes the advice and targets to a golfer like you, rather than to a tour professional.
CaddieIQ is a GPS app, so allow location access when prompted. Without it, the app can't show your distances on the course.
Tap Start Round, search for your course, and select it. CaddieIQ loads the course map and hole data, then drops you onto the first tee.
For every hole you get precise distances to the front, middle and back of the green, plus carry distances to hazards and layup points. Tap the map to measure to any point you choose.
The heart of the app. CaddieIQ reads the hole, the conditions and your distances and tells you which club to hit. Tap the recommendation to see the reasoning behind it.
Log each shot as you play — club used and where it finished. This builds your real-world distances and feeds your stats and strokes-gained analysis. (Starter users can log up to 10 shots per round.)
Drop the pin on its real position for the day to get exact distance to the flag, not just the middle of the green.
Scan your lie (rough, sand, slope, etc.) and CaddieIQ adjusts its distance and club advice to suit the shot you've actually got.
Point your phone at a tree to measure its height and see whether you can carry it. Or switch to Under a Branch: aim at a low branch, pick your shot type (Normal / Punch / High), and CaddieIQ tells you which club threads under it — using your own gapping — with a flight-arc picture and the safest club to escape and advance the ball.
Keep your score hole-by-hole as you play. Completed rounds are saved to your history and feed your handicap and stats.
Record your swing with the camera and CaddieIQ analyses your positions and tempo. Save swings to your library to track progress over time.
Compare your swing side-by-side against an earlier swing or a reference pro swing to see exactly what's changed.
See the distance gaps between your clubs at a glance, so you can spot overlaps or holes in your set and dial in your yardages. Gap your wedges and short irons at the clock positions — 7:30 (¼), 9:00 (½), 10:30 (¾) and Full — the pro “Pelz” system, with carry and roll-out stored for each.
Inside ~60 yards, CaddieIQ turns your gapping into a shot menu: fly-it-and-stop, standard and bump-and-run, each with the club, clock swing, carry and total. Pick the shot you want to play, not just the club, and tap to log it.
Every club × swing × lie combination CaddieIQ knows, grouped by lie, each badged with where its number comes from: ⚙ default (a generic Tour-average multiplier), 🎛 tuned (a figure you set yourself) or 📊 learned (your own measured average). Log around five shots for a combo — picking the clock swing each time so each tier builds its own data — and its badge flips from ⚙ to 📊, replacing the generic number with yours. It teaches you your actual carries (not the ones your ego remembers), how much a rough or bunker lie really costs, and which parts of your bag CaddieIQ is still guessing. And it’s no scrapbook: every on-course club suggestion, lie adjustment, Shot Option and spoken “you normally hit this 200 yards” is read straight from your learned numbers — so the more rounds you log, the sharper the advice gets.

Hear your distances and advice spoken aloud, so you can keep your eyes on the shot. Toggle it on in Settings.
Tap the mic on the course and ask a question out loud — “what club from here?”, “how do I play a ball below my feet?”, “how much is the wind playing?” CaddieIQ answers with a spoken reply and an on-screen card. Tap once to start, speak at your own pace, then tap again to send — no wake word to mishear you. It never makes up a number: the club, yardage and wind figures all come from your own gapping and CaddieIQ’s maths.
See distances and key info on your wrist with the companion Wear OS app — glance down instead of reaching for your phone.
Set your goals, units and preferences in Settings. This is also where you manage your subscription, toggle the voice caddie, and adjust how the app behaves.
Sign in with your Google account and your profile, bag and club gapping are backed up to your account. If you reinstall or switch phones, your data restores automatically — no more re-entering your numbers. Back up or restore any time in Settings → Backup & Sync.
Your plan is managed through Google Play. Open Settings to view your current tier, upgrade, or restore a purchase. Annual plans save roughly 25% versus monthly.
Start free for 7 days with everything unlocked. After that, pick the level that suits you — features unlock automatically.
Check that location permission is allowed (phone Settings → Apps → CaddieIQ → Permissions → Location → Allow), and that you've selected the correct course.
Update your carry distances in Your Bag. The more shots you log, the more accurate it becomes — it's learning your real game.
